Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K. Taraka Rama Rao on Friday reviewed among other issues the 100 Day Action Plan of HMWSSB in Board Office.
HMWSSB Managing Director Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy appraised the Minister with the progress of 100-Days Action Plan. He informed that as per the target in 100 Days Action plan, 1000 Rain Water Harvesting Pits will be completed; all 5,000 pending water supply connections will be cleared; laying of trunk sewer main of K&S Nala to laying of water supply lines for improvement of water supply to 20,000 connections in Serilingampally will be completed.
The Minister observed that the coming two months of summer are going to be critical for water supply as traditional drinking water sources are dried up. He exhorted the Board Engineers to rise to the occasion and deliver the goods by maintaining proper water supply to the citizens of Hyderabad. He further added that no one should take leave during these two months.
While congratulating the Board for achieving good revenue collections in 2015-16 Financial year, amounting to 1238 Crores which is an increase of Rs.25 Crores over last year, the Minister said that Board should aim for self-sufficiency in funds by improving internal efficiency, duly disconnecting illegal connections, collecting arrears from big defaulters, conversion of domestic to commercial, reducing unaccounted for water, within 3 months.
KTR also inaugurated e-Office of HMWSSB.
Four agencies gave Power Point Presentation on Musi River beautification and rejuvenation.
Among others who attended the meeting include GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Deputy Mayor Mohd Baba Fasiuddin, Special Chief Secretary M. G. Gopal and other senior officials. (INN)
