Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Monday held a meeting with senior officials to review the works pertaining to Telangana Fibre Grid scheme.
Senior officials of IT and Rural Water Supply Departments participated in the review meeting held at the State Secretariat. RWS officials informed the minister that so far 3,500 KM pipelines have been laid wherein Fibre Ducts were also laid along with water pipe lines. They said tenders have been called for Fibre Ducts works and once the process gets completed, both the works would be taken up simultaneously.
KTR told the officials that Fibre Grid project was being executed in association with Bharat Net. He said that the scheme was being supported by the Central Government. He said a meeting in this regard would be held on Tuesday with the officials of Central Government. He directed the officials to prepare a report on Fibre Grid in the State.
The meeting was attended by Panchayat Raj Special Secretary S.P. Singh, IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Rural Water Supply Engineer-in-Chief Surender Reddy and other senior officials. (INN)
