KTR, Ramchandra Rao spar on “debt trap row’

Even as Assembly saw allegations and counter allegations on debt trap jibe among ruling and opposition parties, Council on Friday witnessed heated argument over the same issue. Minister for IT and Industries and Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao and BJP MLC Ramchandra Rao got into a verbal clash on debt trap row. When the BJP member tried to rake up the issue by stating that Telangana caught in debt trap, the minister was on toes to counter him. KTR said that whether we can call India in debt trap for bringing loans for developmental works.

The Minister also refuted the comments of the BJP leader that the government failed to spend funds allotted to various heads. Though allocations to various heads are reduced to some extent in the budget the government has spent funds allotted he said. He found fault with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for changing tack by announcing crop loan waiver for Uttar Pradesh elections which he faulted earlier. Telangana has made it top level in terms of development in two and half years while the BJP ruling states are still lagging behind, the minister pointed out.
