KTR pulls up Sircilla Hospital officials

Hyderabad: TRS working president and former minister KT Rama Rao today pulled up officials in Government Area Hospital in Sircilla, his own segment. 


Reacting to a report that a pregnant woman died as officials denied services to her, KTR made a surprise visit to the hospital and inspected the services and facilities.

He slammed the officials on the reports of denial of services led to the death of a pregnant woman in the hospital. He sought to know as to why they denied needed services to the woman who died. This sort of negligence brings a bad name to the government despite spending huge funds, he fumed. How the doctors can ask the poor patients to go elsewhere when they come to the hospitals”, he asked. “This is shameful act and should not recur in the future”, he warned.


The former minister rang up Health Secretary and asked her to appoint four gynecologists to the hospital immediately to serve the poor. KTR expressed displeasure at the doctors, who got postings here, we’re preferring to go to other places. He wondered as to why the doctors give useless suggestions to poor patients to go elsewhere instead of visiting the government hospitals. He also reprimanded the doctors in the government hospitals for ignoring to serve the poor people.

The government was spending lakhs to prepare doctors and providing medical education. But the doctors were not ready to work for three years in area hospitals, in the villages and towns, he fumed.
