Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that the Telangana Government is planning to construct 1.08 lakh 2BHK houses in the Greater Hyderabad limits to realize the dream of ‘Hut Free and Slum Free’ city for Hyderabad.
Speaking while participating in various developmental programmes held in the city on Thursday, KTR said that the GHMC was having around 1,450 slums and the State Government has already identified land to construct double bed room houses to replace those slums. He said around 10,000 houses would be constructed this year, 25,000 next year and another 50,000 in the coming years. He said a detailed plan is being chalked out to implement the proposal. He said GHMC was the only municipal corporation to take up a scheme like double bed room houses for poor. He said the scheme has been already implemented at IDH Colony.
KTR claimed that the TRS Government has resolved the 30-year-old problem of power cuts. He also assured that the State Government would create more job avenues for the youth.
Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said that the State Government has already issued 108,000 pattas at free of cost. He also listed out several other schemes being implemented by the government for the welfare of poor.
Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy said that the government has waived Auto Transport Tax of nearly Rs. 77 crores for the benefit of auto drivers and also providing Rs. 5 lakhs insurance scheme.
Excise Minister T. Padma Rao, Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and other leaders also participated in the programmes. (INN)
