IT and NRI Affairs Minister KT Rama Rao today asserted that the government will provide all help to the people going abroad from Telangana state by setting up a Centre for Non Telangana Affairs Committee to settle the issues.
At a seminar on proposed NRI Policy and modalities here the Minister mulled to bring in the best NRI policy from Telangana which will become noted in the country. The NRI Policy will sure prove handy as it will help those planning abroad to get complete information related to higher education, jobs and Acts overseas and creating awareness. KTR expressed concern that about 10 per cent people going abroad are facing a lot of problems. The Minister noted that the government is committed to protect NRIs’ interests by creating awareness among them by divulging details of colleges, Acts abroad and related information.
This committee will look into the problems of NRIs besides a new committee of collectors of districts will also prove handy, he asserted. A 24 hr helpline is set up he said adding that a one-time registration facility will be in place for those willing to go abroad he said. A corpus fund to help those who returned facing problems and offering exgratia to the kin of deceased NRIs he stated. The minister also promised to details pertaining to block-listed colleges abroad will be made online for the knowledge of the students going for higher studies overseas.(NSS)
