Municipal & IT Minister KT Rama Rao today said Hyderabad will be developed into a world-class city by spending a whopping Rs 23,000 crore.
KTR launched the newly-laid bypass at Ayyappa Society crossroads in the city as part of first phase of SRDP along with Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, Minister Mahender Reddy, Mayor Rammohan and officials here.
Speaking on the occasion, KTR stated that they have plans to develop the city with the best facilities and infrastructure. The 450 mt long under pass was completed in nine months as against 12 months under SRDP, he said. “The SRDP will be taken up in four phases and a plan was on cards to construct 11-km long elevator corridor, the minister stated.
Stating that Rs 3,200 crore SRDP works are being executed, KTR said they will call tenders for Rs 3000 crore worth works soon. Expressing satisfaction at the announcement of Hyderabad as an ODF city after Mumbai, KTR vowed to develop the city on par with any other metro city in the country. “We will complete the works of a bypass at Mindspace by March and flyover by next year June, a bypass at Chintalkunta near LB Nagar by April, Kamineni flyover coming June, Amberpet flyover by 2019 and plan to build a flyover from VST to Indira Park.
The minister maintained that they are taking up developmental programs with accountability and in a planned manner. Hyderabad roads are being repaired on a war-footing and plan to spend Rs 950 cr to avoid damage to the roads due to rains in future, he added.
