Municipal Administration Minister, KT Rama Rao today offered his one monthly salary for the prestigious Haritha Haram program taken up across the state. At a Haritha Haram review meeting with officials here the minister announced that the donations by ministers, leaders and officials will push the green drive to another level. The flagship program of green drive is meant for attracting rains and fighting pollution he noted. Following suit, Mayors, deputy mayors, chairmen, vice chairmen gave their month salary while directors and staff also offered their one day salary for the green drive. Stating that Rs 10 cr released for green drive in municipalities KTR asked the leaders and officials to coordinate to make success the green drive by protecting them. As of now involvement of people is good and the officials should focus on protecting the plants to survive, he said. (NSS)
