KTR forecasts golden era in Palamur district

IT & Industries Minister KT Rama Rao today vowed that backward Mahabubnagar district, known for migration, which was “deceived and neglected” by successive governments for decades will get back to its sheen as the TRS Government was committed to develop it on par with other districts.

Planting saplings at Mayuri Nursery and inaugurating Urban Lung Space Park and Adventure Park on the premises as a part of third phase of Harithaharam program on Saturday, KTR said the poor people in the district will get housing facility and safe waters as double bedroom housing scheme and Mission Bhagiratha are nearing completion. He said some 3,700 poor beneficiaries will get houses and some 1,300 houses will be given by next Dasara festival in the town.

The Municipal Administration Minister expressed serious concern that Palamur suffered decades’ long deception, deprival and backwardness by the previous governments. The erstwhile Nizam had planned to build a big project in Palamur district to bring 170 tmc water of Krishna River to the chronically drought affected district. But the proposal was set aside by the rulers after merger of Andhra with Hyderabad State, he deplored.

Stating that Palamur was on development path now under TRS rule, KTR exhorted the people to be cautious of the Opposition’s conspiracy and false campaigning against the development and projects. The Opposition has been moving courts to stall the Palamur-Ranga Reddy projects to deceive the farmers and people of the districts, he alleged. But Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was keen on turning Mahabubnagar district into a green area by completing all the projects to bring under irrigation about 10 lakh acres besides taking up development works.

The minister vowed to develop the district with top priority in all sectors and prevent migration by necessary steps. Accusing previous chief ministers of failing to develop Palamur after adopting it, he attributed the migration of farmers and people to the conspiracy and negligence of the previous governments. The Congress, Telugu Desam are making a vain bid to stall projects and development works. Though the previous governments did not bother of welfare of the poor, farmers and others, they are resorting to criticize sheep rearing, fisheries and other schemes meant for empowering rural people and reviving their financial status.
