KTR Flays Akbar over Remarks Against Students

Hyderabad, December 13: The TRS supremo, Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao’s son and MLA from Siricilla, Mr K Taraka Rama Rao, on Monday severely lashed out at the MIM legislature party leader, Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi, over his attitude on the issue of lifting of cases against the students involved in the Telangana movement.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Taraka Rama Rao said that with regard to the Telangana movement, Mr Akbaruddin was playing a role of “Shikhandi” of the epic Mahabharata. He also alleged that the MIM leader was talking so at the behest of the Congress party. He expressed his anguish over Mr Akbaruddin linking the Telangana movement with that of communal clashes.

Stating that Mr Owaisi was consistently talking critical of the Telangana movement, Mr KTR said that the MIM leader had even dragged the name of the Father of the Nation into it. While the TRS and like-minded parties were demanding lifting of cases against the students associated with the movement, Mr Akbaruddin was trying to obstruct our efforts, he noted. He also demanded that the Chief Minister, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy, should ensure lifting of cases against the students immediately if he has positive opinion about them.

Referring to the allegations of Mr Owaisi that the agitating students had assaulted the nurses in the Niloufer hospital, Mr Taraka Rama Rao denied that the students ever assaulted, attacked or intimidated the Niloufer nurses at gun point.
