To give a fillip to Textiles industry and promote its handloom clothes among departments in a big way through “Chenetha Lakshmi” the state government has launched “One Day Handloom in Week” program. As part of the program Textiles Ministry has taken a decision to encourage staff and employees wear the handloom clothes one day in a week. Textiles Minister KT Rama Rao today handed over a bag of Textiles clothes manufactured by Tesco to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Assembly chambers during winter session. KTR also handed over the same clothes to Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary, Chairman Swamy Goud, deputy chief ministers, ministers and Congress leader Shabbir Ali. On the occasion he appealed to them to see that their staff wears the handloom clothes to encourage the handloom industry flourish and enable the workers involved get better revenues.
KTR informed to the chief minister about the launch of “Chenetha Lakshmi” program to encourage the staff and officials to wear the handloom clothes. The program is aime to enable the handloom industry to get business promotion and boost their financial conditions. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Minister G Jagadish Reddy and other leaders were present. KCR appreciated the program and asked the minister to go ahead with the plan. KTR said that he asked municipal, mining and Industries departments to wear handloom clothes once in a week. We have taken up various programs to promote handloom clothes have been on and it is time for the ministers to extend support. Tesco website is to promote the handloom clothes business and we have a plan to take support of Amazaon and Flipkart for online promotion he said.
GHMC Commissioner informed to the minister that he took a decision to ensure that the staff wears handloom clothes on every grievance day. With the program the government can create awareness among people on the use of handloom clothes. Ministers appreciated the Chenetha Lakshmi program as it will help support the handloom industry.
