KTR exhorts auto drivers to support TRS in GHMC elections

“The TRS Government will solve the problems of autorickshaw workers in the State”, IT & Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao has said.

Speaking at a self-respect program of rickshaw workers at LB Nagar here on Sunday, the minister exhorted them to campaign for the TRS in the forthcoming GHMC elections. “Every autorickshaw worker should work for the cause of the TRS to hoist Pink flag on the GHMC”, he stated. He also pointed out that the credit of offering Rs 5 lakh accident insurance to the autorickshaw workers goes to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who also waived Rs 77 crore transport tax of auto workers.

KTR said the State government was ready to implement more welfare schemes for the workers and address their problems by talking to the Transport Department officials. “To implement more welfare schemes for their families, we have to win the corporation elections”, KTR said. All the 1.5 lakh autorickshaw workers and GHMC workers should work for the TRS for welfare, he said.

When the minister sought to know whether they were ready to support, the auto workers extended support by raising their hands. He also said the TRS government increased the salary of GHMC and RTC employees recently on par with the government employees. KTR called upon them to celebrate Simha Garjana program at Nizam College grounds in January first week. (NSS)
