Telangana Rashtra Samiti senior leader and Sircilla MLA K. Taraka Ramarao today demanded that the Centre prepare a National Policy on he Gas allocation to the Power Plants.
Criticizing that the UPA government’s polices were enabling private power plants to make fabulous profits, KTR lashed out at the State government for it deep slumber while the Gas quota was diverted to Maharashtra. He said that though Gas quota was stopped to Ratnagiri Power Plant in Maharashtra now, there was possibility of reviving Gas quota to Ratnagiri again in future. He demanded that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy immediately convene an all-party meeting to discuss the issue.
The TRS leader asked the Centre to disclose the secrecy behind allotment of Gas to Lanco and GMR private power plants while it neglected the APGenco-operated Nedunoor and Shankarpally Power Plants. He also demanded that the Centre cancel Gas allocation to the Lanco and GMR private power plants and allot Gas to Nedunoor and Shnkarpally power plants. (NSS)
