Municipal Administration Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Monday strongly defended the TRS Government’s support to BJP-led Government at the Centre.
Speaking after distributing Bhagayath plot allotment letters among beneficiaries at Survey of India Auditorium at Uppal, KTR said that the TRS Government would do everything to protect the interest of Telangana State. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has extended his support to all major decisions taken by the BJP Government like demonitisation and GST. TRS is also supporting the candidatures of NDA candidate Ramnath Kovind in the Presidential elections, he said.
KTR said that the TRS Government was supporting the decisions which are in the interest of the nation and people. However, he said that the TRS would maintain pressure on the NDA Government to get due share of Telangana. He said effective representations were being made with the Centre on issues like bifurcation of High Court, funds for various projects and other promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
The programme was also addressed by Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Transport Minister Mahender Reddy, MP Malla Reddy, MLA NVSS Prabhakar, HMDA Commissioner Chiranjeevulu and other senior officials. (INN)
