Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Tuesday assured to upgrade Tribal Tandas with a population of over 500 people into Gram Panchayats.
Addressing the 75th anniversary of Tribal leader Kommaram Bheem at Judi Ghat of Keerameri mandal in Adilabad district, KTR said that the TRS Government has been working for the welfare of tribals in the Telangana State. He said that the TRS Government has set an example for the entire country in terms of welfare of people. He said that the government has fulfilled the promise of providing 2BHK flats to weaker sections. He said 50 houses would be constructed under 2BHK scheme in Judi Ghat.
KTR recalled that Kommaram Bheem fought for ‘Jal, Zameen and Jungle’ (Water, land and forests) and the same battle has inspired the Telangana movement.
The minister said that new gram panchayats would be established before the next panchyat polls. He said that the State Government has appointed doctors and other staff to provide medical facilities in the Girijan Tandas.
The function was also addressed by Ministers Jogu Ramanna, Indrakaran Reddy and Ajmeera Chandulal, MPs G. Nagesh and B. Suman, MLAs K. Lakshmi, B. Chinnaiah, Dayakar Rao, Koneru Konappa and Rekha Naik. (INN)
