Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh today extended a grand welcome to Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao in Lucknow.
KTR reached Lucknow on the invitation of the UP Chief Minister with regard to the Telangana government’s flagship program of Water Grid being implemented in Telangana State. Along with a team of top officials, including Raymond Peter and Surender Reddy, KTR met Akhilesh Yadav and had an interaction with him on the water grid project aimed providing safe and potable drinking waters to every household in villages and towns in next three years.
On being apprised of the project plan of implementation and keeping the promise, Akhilesh appreciated the efforts of Telangana government and described it as a wonderful project. KTR informed Akhilesh Yadav that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was determined to provide pure water to the people. He also told him that KCR reiterated that he would not seek voters if he failed to keep his promise. The water grid project is estimated to cost about Rs 40,000 crore and 1.25 lakh km pipelines are to be laid for the purpose. It is likely that Akhilesh, who reportedly got the details, is likely to replicate the same in Uttar Pradesh. (NSS)
