K.T. Rama Rao challenges Naidu

Hyderabad, April 18: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) MLA K.T. Rama Rao dared Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu to see to it that an inquiry is ordered into the assets of his father and TRS president Chandrasekhar Rao as well as Mr. Naidu right since 1975 when they were in the infancy of their political career.

Replying to allegations of Mr. Naidu that his father had amassed wealth in politics, Mr. Rao told a press conference on Sunday that the former was free to order the probe with whomsoever he wished. Mr. Naidu should stop making the allegations if he failed to accept the challenge.

He recalled in this connection that Mr. Naidu’s brother-in-law and Rajya Sabha member of TDP Harikrishna had himself charged Mr. Naidu recently of earning hundreds of crores of rupees without even having a cent of land at the beginning of his career.

Targeting senior TDP leader E. Dayakar Rao for stating that he owned thousands of acres of land, Mr. Rao offered to give them up if the former proved his charge.

He also asked Mr. Dayakar Rao to prove that he had business links with Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal. There was no need for him to hide these links as the TRS had said in the past that the people of Telangana would partner their counterparts from coastal districts in business enterprises after formation of the State, he said. He demanded Mr. Dayakar Rao and other Telugu Desam Party leaders from Telangana to join an intensified movement for separate Telangana in May if they had the courage.
