Mumbai, June 20: The idea of making Krrish 2 has been canned because the Roshans have been unable to zero in on a suitable script. Also, Hrithik is no longer keen to work with Rakyesh Mehra, who was supposed to direct the film.
A source said, “The Roshans have been working on several script ideas for Krrish 2 but nothing could be finalised. They could not zero in on any one script and whatever was remotely finalised, was not approved by either Rakesh or Hrithik. The idea has now taken a back seat as Rakyesh Mehra, who was finalised to direct the sequel, delivered a turkey in Delhi-6. Hrithik was in two minds about working with Mehra and Rakesh Roshan had made it clear that he does not want to direct Krrish 2. They have altogether dropped the plans to make the sequel. Currently, Rakesh Roshan is looking for a fresh subject with a global appeal as he wants Hrithik to be an international star.”
A non-committal Rakesh Roshan said, “Right now, I am not thinking of anything till Kites releases. Only after that will I decide on what to make next.”
When asked if he is working on some other subject, he said, “Not right now.”
