Kristen Stewart to direct short film

New York: Actress Kristen Stewart is set to direct her first short film about power of women.

The “Twilight” actress will step behind the camera for Refinery29, a fashion and lifestyle media company announced on Monday at a presentation here, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

The film will comprise of 12 short films, which will be created by female filmmakers, writers and animators and the first offering, actress and filmmaker Chloe Sevigny’s “Kitty”, will premiere at Cannes Film Festival later this month.

“In my acting career everything I do, my image and who I am and what I feel represents me is in the hands of a man, usually a white man… I realised very recently that I want to be the one that decides what image I show the public,” Stewrat said.
