Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today informed the Legislative Council that the government was striving to protect interests of the State.
Replying to questions during question hour, the minister said Krishna water was diverted to the Rayalaseema region affecting the interests of Telangana during previous united Andhra Pradesh government. The designs of some projects have been modified in view of future needs, Harish Rao said. It was the government’s aim to convert the State into a greenery, the minister said.
The Irrigation Minister attributed the delay in the execution of projects to the Congress party, which was trying to create hurdles in the development of the State. The State would fully utilize Krishna river waters, the minister said. (NSS)
