Hyderabad, March 23: Andhra Pradesh Government will file a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court challenging the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal’s award on sharing of Krishna river water between riparian states Maharashtra, Karnataka and AP.
Simultaneously, it will also file a petition before the Justice Brijesh Kumar-led tribunal seeking clarifications on its order delivered on December 30 last.
This was decided at an all-party meeting held here late this evening. At the meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, political parties wanted him to lead an all-party delegation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to apprise him of the damage done to the state by the award.
The State Government appointed senior advocates K Parasaran, Harish Salve and G Umapathy to plead its case both in the Supreme Court and before the tribunal.
