Krishna Rao visits Beechupally ghat

Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister, Jupally Krishna Rao today said that the government has made elaborate arrangements for devotees coming for Krishna Pushkaralu in Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts.

On fourth day of the Pushkaralu, the minister made a visit to Beechupally pushkar ghat near Gadwal here in Palamur district. He inspected the pushkar festivities and spoke to some devotees about the facilities. Since lakhs of devotees thronging the pushkar ghats we have made better arrangements Krishna Rao said. He asked the officials to ensure that ghats are kept clean by removing trash and sand when the water level is receding. Speaking to reporters on the occasion the government has constructed 52 bathing ghats, temporary rooms for changing dress for women, water, power supply and allotted 300 acres for parking of vehicles. The Minister asked the officials concerned to ensure that the devotees thronging bathing ghats get easy dip and hassle-free darshan at the temple nearby.

 Besides pressing in TSRTC buses special autos are made available for shifting old aged persons and physically disabled persons to the pushkar ghats. The minister stated that they can irrigate 20 lakhs of acres on completion of pending projects in the district. Plans are on to irrigate 5 lakh acres through completion of Nettempadu, Bheema and Kalwakurthy projects he said. (NSS)
