Hyderabad: A Secunderabad court today granted conditional bail to MRPS founder-president Manda Krishna Madiga, who was lodged in Chanchalguda jail.
The court directed the MRPS leader to appear before the Kharkhana and Ramgopalpet police stations once two days. He was arrested while participating in a protest program demanding categorisation of SCs recently and sent to jail.
The MRPS gave a State bandh call on Wednesday demanding release of their arrested leader. However, after the court granted bail, the bandh call would be withdrawan, MRPS sources said.
The TTDP and BJP leaders called on Manda Krishna Madiga in the jail and demanded his release while supporting demand of SC categorisation. On December 17, MRPS had given a call for Madiga Million March on the occasion of MRPS slain leader Bharathi memorial meeting. Tension prevailed when MRPS activists in thousands suddenly rushed towards Tank Bund. The alert police obstructed the MRPS activists and in the process jostling took place. In this context the police arrested Manda Krishna Madiga.
