Major and Medium Irrigation Minister P Sudharshan Reddy on Monday informed the State Legislative Assembly that under the modernisation of Krishna and Godavari Deltas would be completed in the next three years.
The minister said that under the modernisation of Krishna dn Godavari Deltas, it has been proposed to take up modernisation of canals and drains by bringing them to original standards, dredging operations and maintenance works of Sir Arthur Cotton and Prakasham Barrages.
However, the minister admitted the works were not progressing as per the schedule. He said for settled packages, action was being initiated as per agreement conditions. For unsettled, packages, they are downsized and settled for the present long closure and tenders are invited, he said. (INN)
