Union Minister of State for Railways Kotla Suryapraksh Reddy on Tuesday called on the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and stressed the imperative need for the formation of Rayala-Telangana State.
Suryaprakasha Reddy reiterated that if bifurcation of the state becomes inevitable, Kurnool and Ananthapur districts should be merged with the 10 districts of Telangana, to carve out a Rayala-Telangana State.
He submitted a memorandum to the Union Home Minister in this regard and pointed out that 1700 villages out of 2300 villages in Kurnool and Ananthapur districts favored Rayala-Telangana state. He also handed over the resolutions adopted by the grama sabhas of the 1700 villages supporting the demand for Rayala-Telangana State.(NSS).
