Vijayawada: YSRCP MP Kottapalli Gita today announced a new political party in Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to the media here today, Gita announced named her party as “Janajagruti” and slogan of the party as “Go ahead for change”. Though Gita, hails from Visakhapatnam district, she was elected to Parliament on YSRCP ticket in 2014 elections, but she was maintaining distance from the party activities for some time. There were also rumors that she may join the ruling TDP. But her floating a new party suddenly raised many an eyebrow in political circles.
Gita also criticized YSRCP chief and Leader of the Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy alleging that he was not attending Assembly and failed to raise the people’s burning problems. She also said she had worked as a deputy collector and involved in many social activities since her student days.
