Mr. Konda Lakshma Reddy, former MLA from Chevella (Cong) has, complimented the Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy on the agreement signed by him with his Maharashtra counter part on the Pranahita-Chevella Irrigation project, and said it is indeed a Great Landmark in the History of Andhra Pradesh, more so of the Backward Telangana region.
In a letter to the Chief Minister today, Mr Lakshma Reddy said Mr Reddy deserved all praise for this achievement, which will Greatly help the development of Seven districts in Telangana region, as also the State Capital, by bringing under irrigation nearly 16.40 lakh acres new ayacut, drinking water to Twin cities and a large number of Villages en route and also for Industrial use.
Mr Lakshma Reddy said: “This project is a four-decade old dream of the people of Telangana; and the signing of the Agreement with Maharashtra will go a long way in realization of their dream in near the future. Once the project becomes a reality, your name will always be remembered by the people of Telangana and you will find a Place in their Hearts. As a former MLA from Chevella, I heartily compliment you on this Great achievement. Needless to say, this will also help the Congress Party, with which I have been associated for the last four decades, and improve it’s Image among the people”.
He requested the Chief Minister to strive sincerely for getting National project Status to Pranahita-Chevella, so that funds could be secured from the Centre and the Project could be completed within shortest possible period. He also requested Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy to provide the necessary funds for the Project works from the State Government side also, till it was given National Project status. (NSS)
