Alleging that “anti-farmer” government was ruling the State, Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has said he would launch “Chalo Assembly” program with two lakh farmers on October 27. He appealed to all political parties to extend cooperation to the program.
Speaking to the media here on Friday, Komatireddy said cotton crop was destroyed due to heavy rains and the farmers were not getting minimum support price in the market. The farmers were not getting more than Rs 1,500 to Rs.2,000 per quintal cotton. Similarly, the farmers were not getting more than Rs 1,100 to Rs 1,300 per quintal paddy in the market. He asked farmers not to get demoralized and commit suicides.
Responding to a question, Komatireddy said nobody discussed with him about TTDP working president A Revanth Reddy joining the Congress. (NSS)
