Nalgonda Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has declared that his party will not contest in the next election if the present government succeeds in completing in construction of 2.60 lakh double bed room houses in the State in the coming two-and-a-half years.
Participating in a short discussion on “Weaker Section Housing, including Rajiv Swagruha, Rajiv Gruhakalpa and Double Bed Room houses” in the Assembly on Tuesday, Komatireddy said the people of the State cast their votes to the TRS believing its assurances i.e. Rs one lakh loan waiver to farmers and double bed room houses to the poor. He demanded that the State government reveal when it would complete construction of double bed room houses in the State. He said he knew the situation of the state after the demonetization of big notes and felt it was not possible to complete the construction of double bed room houses.
Komatireddy also said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had assured the people that his government would construct double bed room houses to protect the self-respect of the poor. But the State government has constructed double bed room houses only in Siddipet and Erravalli. “The people are asking us to demand about their houses?”, he said.
Komatireddy alleged that the Chief Minister constructed CM’s Camp Office with 150 rooms which is unique in the nation. He asked the Chief Minister to evince same interest in constructing double bed room houses for the poor. He also said the people in the villages were asking about double room houses only. He asked the Chief Minister to stick to his word and made it clear that he would not contest in the next election if the Chief Minister fulfilled his assurance. (NSS)
