Komati says Boddupalli Laxmi may quit politics

Former minister and Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today claimed that Nalgonda Municipal chairperson Boddupalli Laxmi, wife of Boddupalli Srinivas, who was murdered recently, was not interested either to contest election or continue in politics.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Komatireddy said he will contest from Nalgonda Parliamentary constituency and field a youth from Nalgonda Assembly constituency. He also said his brother and MLC Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy would contest from Bhongir Parliamentary seat. He made it clear that both brothers were contemplating to contest as MPs to ensure victory of Congress candidates from 12 MLA seats and two MP seats in the old Nalgonda district.

Alleging that Minister G Jagdeesh Reddy would not get his deposit in the ensuing elections, Komatireddy said while Gutha Sukhender Reddy won 2014 election by two lakh majority, he would win with over two lakh majority in 2019 elections. He reiterated that his ultimate aim was to bring back Congress to power. (NSS)
