Kohli’s men offer condolences on demise of India’s Under-19 trainer, Shami’s father

Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India]: The Indian cricket team on Sunday was spotted wearing black band during the second T20 international against England condoling the demise of India’s Under-19 trainer Rajesh Sawant and Mohammed Shami’s father Tousif Ali
Sawant, India A and Under-19 cricket team’s trainer, was found dead in his hotel room in Mumbai this morning.

The 40-year-old, was supposed to report to training ahead of India’s first ODI against England, but since he did not appear, people began looking for him after which he was found dead in his room.

However, the BCCI sources confirmed that Sawant died due to cardiac arrest.

Meanwhile, the police is still waiting for the medical report.

Shami’s father, Ali, died of cardiac arrest on Friday in Amroha.

Shami, who is undergoing rehab after recuperating from knee injury, was with his father before he decided to join the team for the first T20I match in Kanpur which India lost by seven wickets.

Meanwhile, England team won the toss and asked the home side to bat first.

At the time of reporting, India were 97/3, with Lokesh Rahul and Manish Pandey at the crease. (ANI)
