Galle, Aug.11 : Indian skipper Virat Kohli has praised Sri Lanka for being aggressive on field, considering them a competitive team which have always done well as far as playing against big opponents is concerned, ahead of the Galle Test against Sri Lanka, which starts from August 12.
“You can see that hunger in them. All the established player even as well as the younger they want to come out and perform well and keep Sri Lanka right up in the World cricket and that is one team that has really done well as far as playing well against big opponents or playing well in big tournaments over the past few years ,” Kohli told the media here.
He also praised the Lankan side for their winning approach and the attitude they bring to the field.
“You might not be counting them as favourites when the tournament starts. But they always make into semis in all the finals. I think that’s the credit to their attitude and the aggression they bring on into the field,” the 26-year-old said.
Kohli added that it is evident from Sri Lanka’s body language that they are gunning to win every match as they were a very competitive unit.
With the first Test starting from Wednesday, India will be looking to win their first series on the Island nation in more than two decades (ANI)
