Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao today appreciated the work of Telugu associations in foreign countries for extending support and help to the Telugu people.
The work of Telugu associations in foreign countries was commendable, Kodela said while handing over a cheque of Rs 9.50 lakh to family members of K Poojita of Papannapet of Lakshminagar mandal of Medak district. A formal function was organized in his chamber where he handed over the cheque. The amount was collected by NRIs of North America Telugu Society to extend financial help to meet the medical expenditure of Poojita, a B Tech student, who met with an accident in November last year.
Later, the cheque was handed over to Global hospital where Poojita was undergoing treatment. AP Labour Minister Achennaidu, MLA Goutu Shivaji, Rajahmandry MLA Akula Satyanarayana and others were present. (NSS)
