Kodandaram’s yatra has political motives – Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister of Telangana State, Mr. T. Harish Rao alleged that Mr. Kodandaram has started his yatra to achieve political motives. He further said that he is starting his yatra by taking the support from certain political parties in order to create confusion among the minds of the people against TRS Govt.

Mr. Rao also told that Prof. Kodandaram did not do any welfare activity for the public and now, he is trying to create an impression that he is struggling for getting the rights of the people.

He pointed out that hurdles were created for the construction of Mallana Sagar Project but they are questioning the Govt. for not supplying water to the farmers. If the project would have been completed, there would have been no scarcity of water. If Kodandaram has any affection for the people, he should stop creating hurdles in the construction of the irrigation projects.

He appealed to the people to teach a good lesson to the Congress leaders who are creating hurdles in the development process of TRS Govt. He mentioned that if Kodandaram does not make any changes in his attitude, whatever confidence he has among the public would be lost.

Mr. Rao mentioned that during the past 60 years, the development of Telangana was neglected. The TRS Govt. put the State on the track of development. Former governments failed to supply water to farmers through Singoor Reservoir. He mentioned that TRS Govt. made arrangements for the supply of water to irrigate 40 thousand acres of land in Medak. He hoped that by 2018 water would be supplied to more than 1 lakh acre of land.

Mr. Harish Rao asked Kodandaram that is he not seeing the development of State? He advised Prof. Kodandaram to stop all his activities to mislead the people, otherwise, the people of Telangana would teach him a lesson.
