Knowledge necessary for excellence in endeavours: RINL chairman

The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) Chairman cum Managing Director AP Choudhary today inaugurated the two day second “AP State Level Student Convention 2012” jointly organised by Computer Society of India(CSI)in the Steel City. Speaking after inaugurating the two-day State Level Students convention here, he asked the Students to develop communication skills through interaction amongst themselves. He said opportunities exist outside campus selections and one should not get perturbed if not selected in the campus interviews. Students should acquire knowledge of business which is the need of the hour, he added. Business knowledge is essential to become a successful entrepreneur as it is more advantageous than looking for a job, he stressed. Mr Choudhary appreciated the CSI Vizag Chapter and DIET Management for organising this student convention. The District Collector Lav Agrawal congratulated the organisers for organising this mega event. He dwelt upon the changes brought by Information Technology in our lives i.e concept of Faith and Hope among youth. He also informed that IT brought ‘respect’ to youth. IT is a ‘software with intellectual property right’ he added. He exhorted the students to create ideas, think and work hard to achieve excellence.

Mr P Madhusudan, Chairman, CSI Vizag Chapter and RINL-VSP Director (Finance) said the convention acts as platform for Students, Industry and Researchers coming together to enhance knowledge. He informed that CSI, Vizag Chapter would continue to extend support to conduct such programmes to improve IT skills of students and others.

CSI, Vizag Chapter has introduced a scheme to honour the meritorious students (toppers) in both Computer Science and IT disciplines of three universities viz Andhra University , JNTU and GITAM with a cash award of Rs 10,000/- each. CSI, Secretary Sri Suman Das addressed the gathering by announcing prizes to the toppers from these universities. A P Choudhary, Sri Lav Agarwal and Dadi Veerabhadra Rao gave away cheques and certificate of merit to toppers.

More than 2000 students have participated in this convention. Paper presentations, poster presentation, software and hardware -expo, code hunt technical quiz, LAN games and many more spot events are being conducted during this two day convention and also there is two day special session on ‘Ethical hacking’ by Cyber cure technologies, New Delhi.
