With an aim to facilitate and enhance cross-sectoral collaboration among various memory institutions including libraries and museums, Textiles Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar today inaugurated a three-day conference here.
The second International Conference on the Convergence of Libraries, Archives and Museums was started today with the theme of ‘Innovative ideas, technologies and services’.
“One of the objectives of the conference is facilitating and enhancing cross-sectoral collaboration among various memory institutions, i.E., libraries, archives and museums,” an official statement said.
It is in keeping with the demands of time and concerns of a growing knowledge driven economy to have such disparate groups on a common platform, it said.
The conference also aims to foster the spirit of innovation among all the professionals of the knowledge sector in order to attain the goal of long-term preservation of the collective memory of mankind, it added.
