Day 1 – Pratipada – 2nd October, 2016
Maa Shailputri is worshipped on the first day of Navratri, who is known as the daughter of the mountains. She brings peace and harmony in the house and her idol is dressed in bright grey.

Day 3 – Tritiya – 4th October, 2016
On the third day, devotees worship goddess Chandraghanta, known to spread peace, serenity, beauty and bravery in one’s life. The Goddess is dressed in white color and her devotees should wear red color clothes to bring prosperity.

Quick Tip- Take an earthen clay pitcher (‘Matkaa’), fill it with clean water and put some rose petals, one silver coin and one penny in it; then cover it with clay pot lid and tie a ‘Raksha’ thread (‘Moli’/’Kalavaa’) around the neck of this earthen pot to welcome her positive energies in your life.
Day 4 – Chaturthi – 5th October, 2016
Goddess Kushmanda is the fourth form of the goddess worshipped on the fourth day of Navratri. She is considered as the creator of the entire universe and her idol is draped in a red saree.

Day 5 – Panchami – 6th October, 2016
Goddess Skandamata is the avatar of Maa Durga who is worshipped on the fifth day and is known to demolish the demons. Upang Lalitha Gauri Vrata is observed on this day to honor the goddess dressed in a yellow saree.

Day 6 – Shashti – 7th October, 2016

Day 7 – Saptami – 8th October, 2016

It is the beginning of Maha Saptami and Utsava Puja is performed as the goddess is believed to bless her devotees with freedom and happiness. The goddess is adorned with a Peacock Green colored saree to welcome the auspicious energies.

Day 8 – Ashtami (9th October, 2016)

The goddess is dressed in purple attire and Maha Navami puja and Kanya puja is performed on this auspicious day.
