London : Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that his side’s 1-0 win over top-placed Leicester city was `very important` following their recent poor performances in the Premier League.
Christian Benteke, who came off bench to replace injured forward Divock Origi, handed his side a confidence-boosting win against the surprise league leaders.
According to Klopp, it was one of the crucial win for Liverpool after they suffered a humiliating 0-3 loss against Watford in their previous match.
Reflecting on their win, the German manager insisted that his side had played really well in the first half of the match and displayed their quality in their limited playing time, the Mirror reported.
Describing Leicester as a ‘quality’ side, the 48-year-old said that Liverpool had played simple football against their opponents, adding that they were not under pressure during the match.
Liverpool had gone four games without a win and are currently five points behind the top four in the league standings.
The Klopp-led side will next lock horns with Sunderland in their league clash on Thursday. (ANI)
