Klopp hails Guardiola as `one of the best managers`

London : Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has lavished praise on Pep Guardiola, who will succeed Manuel Pellegrini as Manchester City’s next manager, describing him as `one of the best managers` in the world.

Labelling Guardiola as a `smart `person, Klopp believes that the Spaniard would find it difficult to maintain his supreme run in the Premier League which he had displayed during his stay in Germany and Spain, the Guardian reported.

The Liverpool manager also said that Guardiola would enjoy the real competition at the Etihad, but added that it would not be the same for him as it was in Bayern Munich.

Guardiola, who remains on course to lift a third consecutive Bundesliga title with Bayern, will leave the German club at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Pellegrini, who guided City to Premier League glory in the 2013-14 season, had announced that he would leave the Etihad on the original date which was June 30.

City are currently second in the league standings and are just three points behind surprise leaders Leicester City.

City, which have also managed to reach the League Cup final, will next lock horns with Sunderland in their league clash on Wednesday. (ANI)
