TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao today announced the name of party’s polit buro member K Kaeshav Rao for Rajya Sabha elections.
Keshav Rao is likely to file his nomination on January 28. Since Congress is likely to contest for three Rajya sabha seats, the TRS decided to contest for one seat.
Political sources said that if Keshav Rao gets elected as Rajya Sabha member, he would work as a bridge between the two parties. Keshav Rao, who worked as APCC president, had jointed TRS after quitting Congress party on the issue of Telangana. The TRS is thinking that Telangana Congress MLAs would support the party candidate. However, the final decision of T-Congress would depend on the decision of the party high command.(NSS)
