Hyderabad, January 3: Senior Congress leader Keshav Rao on Sunday called on leaders across the political spectrum in the Telangana region to unite and put aside their political differences to work for the achievement of separate Telangana state.
Addressing the gathering at a function to mark the release of a diary brought out by the Telangana Employees Union and Municipal Employees Union, Mr Keshav Rao said that individual efforts are not enough to bring in the monumental changes required in the achievement of a separate Telangana state. He said that a collective effort is needed to pressurize the centre to begin the constitutional process of formation of the Telangana state.
Mr Keshav Rao called on the political leaders to join hands and make a concentrated push for the future state. He added that if all the political leaders in the Telangana region unite, then no one has power or capacity to stop the formation of Telangana state.
The senior Congress leader also said that it is the responsibility of the people’s representatives to fulfill the desire of the Telangana people.
Mr Keshav Rao added that even if 20 Members of the Legislative Assembly show their willingness to resign, then the government will have to wake up to the reality and take the necessary steps for Telangana formation.
