KITE vice-chairman becomes 1st Indian to receive AECT award

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) executive director and vice-chairman K Anwar Sadath has recently received AECT’s International Contributions Award for his contributions in the educational field.

The awarding ceremony was on Thursday night in Kansas City were Mr Sadath was awarded by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Director Phillip Harris.

Speaking of which, the AECT committee said: “Sadath’s outstanding and continuous contributions to the field of educational communications and technology in the international setting is well appreciated. We are impressed with his work and service to this field.”

Sadath has implemented Kerala Hi-tech School Project which has so far transformed as many as 45,000 classrooms of Classes 8 to 12 to hi-tech ones apart from empowering teachers to handle these classes.

“Our strength is by integrating technology into the curriculum to enhance teaching and learning,” said Mr Sadath.

The AECT’s headquarters is based in the US.
