Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy today said that he has urged the central government to help and contribute in the development of new state of Telangana, as the desire of the people was realized after a long struggle.
Speaking to reporters here, Reddy said during his Delhi meeting he called on prime minister Narendra Modi and some central ministers including M Venkaiah Naidu and sought their cooperation for the development of the region.
Without taking name of any party or individual, the T-BJP president said somebody thinks that there was no necessity of any help from the centre. But this attitude is not good for the state, he suggested and said just by creation of new state, all problems cannot be solved.
All the district head quarters and towns in Telangana have yet to be developed and there was a need to provide infrastructure as per the needs. There was also a need to develop airports in Telangana as Shamshabad is the only airport for domestic and International operation compared to five airports in the new state of Andhra Pradesh.
He urged the centre to develop airports at Adilabad, K,arimnagar and Warangal. Referring to plight of Mahabubnagar labourers who migrated to various places in search of job for their livelihood and people from Karimnagar to Gulf countries, Reddy urged the centre to open a special and exclusive centre to look after their woes in Gulf countries. He also asked the centre to post telugu speaking officers at the office of Indian Ambassadors in seven Gulf countries.
‘During my meeting with union ministers I brought to their notice mainly about electricity and irrigation problems. Telangana BJP party would continue to play its role in the development of the region’, he said.
T-BJP president requested TRS government to call assembly session at least for a week to discuss various problems, just nor for merely electing speaker and deputy speaker of the house. Presently administration has totally come to a standstill as state government employees have been in dilemma whether they will be given posting in Telangana or Andhra Pradesh.
To a question, Kishan Reddy expressed hope that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would keep his promise of waiving off loans to farmers. Political partiers should think twice and study before giving any promise to people. TRS government will not go back on its promise, he hoped.
When his attention was drawn on the allegations that opposition parties have been provoking the farmers on the issue of loan waiver, Kishan Reddy said he has been getting hundreds of calls from the people including some TRS workers on the backtrack of KCR who had promised to waive off Rs one lakh loan of each farmers. The public is pressuring us to raise the issue. If TRS government failed to keep its promise, ‘we will not keep quiet’. (NSS)
