Telangana State BJP president G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday appealed to President Pranab Mukherji to advise the Lok Sabha Speaker to annul membership of AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi for desecrating the Indian Constitution by his irresponsible utterances over conferment of Bharat Ratna on former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and Padma Vibhushan on L.K. Advani.
In a letter to the President, the Telangana BJP chief has stated Asaduddin Owaisi’s irresponsible statements are highly provocative and obnoxious. “It is unfortunate that an MP of Lok Sabha so blatantly attempts to desecrate the Constitution. His criticism after the President conferred Bharat Ratna on Vajpayeeji and Padma Vibhushan on LK Advaniji tantamounts to lampooning of the highest Constitutional authority of the nation. His comments warrant immediate action and he should be expelled from the Lok Sabha and his membership annulled.
Kishan Reddy pointed out that Vajpayee has been the beloved leader of the country and his contribution to the development of the nation, his patriotism, his conviction and duty towards the people of India is unflinching. Political parties and people across the spectrum of life transcending all barriers revere him for his statesmanship. Similarly L.K. Advani’s contribution during his 60 years of public life is self evident. Both L.K. Advani and Atal Behari Vajpayee do not need a certificate from a hate-monger like Asaduddin Owaisi, who believes in communal politics and who has been perpetuating the policies of his mentor Khasim Razvi, who was responsible for horrendous massacre of innocent people during the Nizam period in Telangana State.
“On the other hand, those who follow MIM’s divisive politics and their consistent attack on Hindu Gods and Gooddesses and their overt support to terrorists clearly indicate a pattern. They are there to destroy the very idea of the nation and they are playing politics in order to fragment the nation. Asaduddin Owaisi never condemned the abusive language that his brothe used against Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Very recently, he supported terrorists like Vikaruddin, who mercilessly killed innocent people. Further Asaduddin Owaisi has been facing ban on his entry from all the State governments, no matter which party is in power. He had earned this disrepute due to his provocative speeches and attempts to divide people.
The continuous use of abusive language of Asaduddin Owaisi against a section of people, their beliefs and their sentiments, his continuous abuse of Indian Constitution and various institutions of the Indian polity warrant stringent action. It is in this context, the Telangana unit of BJP appeals for disciplinary proceedings against Asaduddin Owaisi, for violating the very Constitution by which he swore to protect”. (NSS)
