Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Mr. G. Kishen Reddy said that he has been constantly reviewing the situation of Hyderabad and Telangana from Delhi due to continuous heavy rainfalls .
He said that he has instructed officials to take appropriate measures immediately and remove people from low lying areas immediately . The Municipal officials have been advised to remain vigilant in the wake of weather departments warning which has forecaste heavy rains in the next two to three days.
Following his instructions the Municipal Corporation has responded immediately and ordered the repair of drainages and roads on war footing. Mr. Kishen Reddy informed the GHMC Commissioner that the Centre is always ready to cooperate with the State Government if requested. The GHMC commissioner has been instructed to take adequate measures to normalize the city.Since yesterday heavy rains in Hyderabad’s twin towns have caused many areas to be disrupted in public life.
Water inundated people in the lowlands and the common and poor people are in serious trouble. Traffic stalled for hours as water stopped on the road. It is unfortunate that such a situation in Hyderabad city is less than 10 to 15 cm of rainfall.
