Kishan Reddy revamps State BJP unit

Hyderabad, April 13: In accordance with its two-State theory, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced Udyama Committees for Andhra and Telangana regions. Besides, party State president G Kishan Reddy announced the office-bearers of the State unit.

The State unit will have nine vice-presidents, four general secretaries, nine secretaries and 83 Executive Committee members, 61 Executive Special Invitees and nine Permanent Invitees.

The party also announced two separate committees to carry forward the separate Telangana and separate Andhra movements. Dr T Rajeshwar Rao (Warangal) will be the chairman of the Telangana Udyama Commiittee and Bathina Narasimha Rao (Ongole) for the Andhra Udyama Committee.

Senior leader Chinta Samba Murthy becomes the vice-president of the State unit of the part. The party will also have a research committee to train workers and is going to form an exclusive cell for IT professionals.

Youth and women have been given special priority in the new state committee and one-third of the committee are women. Among the office-bearers are six BCs, two SCs and one ST, and seven women. In the executive committee there are 12 SCs, three STs, 53 BCs and 26 women.

There are 58 young leaders who got first opportunity to work at the State level.

The party will constitute separate wings for rural artisans, labour, farmers, employees, peasants and other professionals. A special IT cell is going to be set up with core IT professionals to focus on the software engineers and other professional youth. A Centre for Research & Training with GR Karunakar as its chairman has also been announced with the present list which will take care of empowering workers in every respect.

Wth the infusion of new and young blood, the party was all set to spread its base across all sections of the society and would soon emerge as a formidable force, State general secretary GR Ravinder Raju said.

Committee presidents: Kasam Venkateswarlu (Bharatiya Janatya Yuva Morch), S Malathi Rani (Mahila Morcha), K Ramulu (Dalit Morch), Jammula Shyamkishore (Kisan Morcha), Haneef Ali (Minority Morcha) and Sriram Naik (Girijan Morcha).
