Hyderabad: BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Home G. Kishan Reddy today said the merger of TDP Rajya Sabha MPs into ruling BJP at the Centre was totally Constitutional. He made it clear that the four Rajya Sabha MPs of the TDP like Y Sujana Choudary, CM Ramesh, TG Venkatesh and Garikapati Mohan Rao joined the BJP after submitting a letter to the Rajya Sabha chairman and Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu.
Speaking to mediapersons, Kishan Reddy said the merger of the TDP Rajya Sabha Party was made by the Vice President Of India as per the X schedule of the Constitution. He said the national president of the BJP Amit Shah wrote a letter to the Vice President agreeing to the merger of the four TDP MPs. Targeting TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said Naidu has no right to talk about the defections of his Party MPs as he was pioneer of the defections in Andhra Pradesh State.
He said the Congress party MLAs from Telangana State too joined the ruling TRS party in the similar manner. He made it clear that similar mergers had taken place earlier as well and added that there was no scope to disqualify the four TDP MPs at this juncture.
