BJP floor leader in Telangana Assembly G Kishan Reddy today demanded a comprehensive judicial probe into hunting of deers in Mahadevpur forest in Jayshanker Bhupalreddy district.
In a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Kishan Reddy said the government should take stern action to prevent poaching of wild animals and take action against those responsible in killing of deers recently. The BJP MLA said he had raised the issue in the Assembly. But the state government even after 20 days of incident has not taken any action in this regard in spite assurance given by forest minister in the assembly.
He alleged that a group of persons of some influential leaders of ruling TRS party laced with modern weapons have went to the forest for hunting. After killing deer, when they came across with forest officials, they threatened them and made them to run away from the scene. Despite reports, the government has not registered a case against those who involved in hunting of wild animals in restricted forest. The assailants after hunting were returning, but they lost the way in the forest and abandoned the vehicle with killed animals. He said this gang is reportedly involved in hunting of wild animals in this forest for the last three years. (NSS)
