Hyderabad, July 13 (NSS): Both Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana of Seemandhra region have shown their true colours by batting for unified State at the Friday’s Congress Core Committee meeting held at New Delhi.
As feared by the Telangana Congress leaders, both Chief Minister and PCC chief argued for status quo like Seemandhra representatives but not like CM and PCC Chief for all the three regions. It is saddening that the PCC Chief, who gave an impression that he was for division of the State exhibited his real nature. “Problems would not arise in Telugus having two States” was PCC Chief’’s frequent comment before journalists proved false with his argument for Unified Andhra Pradesh at the Core Committee meeting at Delhi.
In the case of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, fears of Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar, Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki Goud and Peddapally MP G Vivek have come true now. Vivek always said the CM was behaving like chief minister of Seemandhra region, particularly of Chittoor district. Vivek finally embraced TRS knowing that Kiran Kumar Reddy was uncompromising integrationist. But Vivek erred in the case of Botcha. He never suspected the PCC Chief, who acted like a separatist than any other Telangana protagonist. Nobody suspected Botcha would present his
roadmap in favour unified State. “He is not a representative of Seemandhra region. He is a PCC hief”, a senior Congress leader bemoaned on condition of anonymity. Another leader said Botcha might have been confident all these days that the party high command would not take a decision in favour of Telangana and spoke in favour of division of the State.
It is an open secret that Ponnam Prabhakar always accused Kiran Kumar Reddy of behaving like a chief minister of Seemandhra region. Ponnam and Madhu Yashki Goud realized that Kiran was for unified State much earlier, but several other Telangana Congress leaders did not agree with them and backed the Chief Minister. Sangareddy MLA Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy and several other Reddy legislators like K. Laxma Reddy openly supported the Chief Minister contending that Kiran Kumar Reddy was not against separate Telangana State.
The excited Telangana Congress leaders organised ‘Telangana Sadhana Sabha’ at Nizam College Grounds on June 30 when Digvijay Singh arrived in Hyderabad as if they achieved Telangana State. Their hopes of taking credit for achieving separate Telangana State have shattered to the ground with no decision was announced after the CCC meeting in Delhi on Friday. How the Telangana Congress leaders, including K Jana Reddy would show their faces to the people is a big question.
TRS secretary general Dr K Keshav Rao, who was CWC member earlier and joined TRS in protest against the Congress hostile behaviour towards Telangana issue had dismissed the CCC meeting as yet another drama of the Congress high command. (NSS)
