Kiran will continue as CM till Telangana tangle solved: minister

Tirupati, January 15: The Handlooms & Textiles Minister, Dr P. Shankar Rao, has said that the Congress high command would not replace the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, for the present. He said that Mr Kiran would continue in office till the Telangana tangle was resolved.

Talking to the media here on Friday, Dr Shankar Rao exuded confidence that the Telangana State would be a reality by 2012. He said that a decision on the Chief Minister would be taken only after that.

Dr Shankar Rao has reiterated his charges against the late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and his son, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that it would take only an hour for him to prove corruption of Dr Reddy. Similarly, he said that he was ready to prove the corruption charges against Mr Jagan anywhere anytime. He also challenged that he would hand over his properties to the people if he failed to prove the corruption of Mr Jagan. He said that he was ready to tour the State along with Mr Jagan and tell the people about his corrupt practices. He also challenged that he would hang himself to death if Mr Jagan contested against him anywhere in the State and retained his deposit. He said that if Mr Jagan won from any place, including Telangana, he would retire from politics.
When asked about the crowds Mr Jagan was drawing, Dr Rao said that the people were looking at Mr Jagan only as the son of late chief minister Dr YSR. He said that Mr Jagan’s party would be no challenge to the Congress. He also said that Mr Jagan had forgotten that he had grown only because of the Congress party.
